INSTALL/TEST THE ZOOM APP

You can install or test Zoom with this link https://zoom.us/test. If you’ve used Zoom before, it will launch a test class with just you in it. If you haven’t used Zoom before, it will prompt you to install a small App – you only need to do this once. Please do this now or before your first class.

• If you get stuck, you can arrange a live test of the Zoom software with one of the team, please request that via live chat here.

USING ZOOM

When joining the Zoom class, please select join class with computer audio.

On a PC or Mac, the best way to be part of the group is to use the Gallery View, rather than the speaker view. We cover this in the live test and if you’re unsure, please don’t hesitate to ask.

MICROPHONE MUTE - When you wish to speak, please unmute your microphone when called upon by the teacher. When you are not talking, it is advisable to mute your microphone to minimise background noise – You can mute and unmute your device by

• PC – Clicking on the “Mute” icon at the bottom left of the Zoom Screen or “Alt Shift A”

• MAC - Clicking on the “Mute” icon at the bottom left of the Zoom Screen or  “CMD Shift A”

• Android Tablet or Phone – Press the screen and then click on the “Audio” icon at the bottom left

• iPhone or iPad - Tap the screen then tap the microphone icon in the top menu-bar that briefly appears.
